Overview
Swift Micro Laboratories is one of only a few commercial laboratories in South Africa who have a dedicated Marketing & Technical Liaison Department. This department employs staff members who are dedicated exclusively to client service and technical assistance.
The term “Marketing Department” might be slightly misleading, because although this department does generate quotes for all our services, and does visit clients to sell Swift’s services commercially, their major focus is actually Technical Liaison with the clients.
The team regularly schedule visits and training sessions in outlying areas. The Cape Town team services the following areas:
- Namibia
- Northern Cape
- Southern Cape
- Eastern Cape
Our Midrand team looks after:
- Kwazulu Natal
- Limpopo
- Northern Province
- North West Province
- Free State
Our Marketing team is also actively involved in events such as trade exhibitions, conferences and industry lectures. Look out for our regular advertisements in industry magazines or announcements via the Bug News or e-mail for more information about upcoming events.
Technical Support
Staff members employed in the Technical Liaison Department are formally qualified in the fields of Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Consumer Science, Medical Technology and Microbiology and have vast industry experience. Technical support services include the following:
- Interpretation of Microbiological test results and Hygiene Audit reports
- On-site sampling demonstrations
- On-site problem solving
- Developing tailor made sampling/testing plans
- Selecting the best HACCP or other training course for the clients’ specific needs
- Customised HACCP/System implementation plans

Business Development
We are constantly looking for ways to improve our service to our clients, while staying abreast of international developments in Food and Product Safety. Our Business Development Department looks after all requests for non-routine services and new products to make sure that we offer you the best solution for your specific need.
The department works hand-in-hand with Swift’s R&D Departments to ensure that new projects are finished timeously and commercially viable.
